Small shop, big to-do list
How a Bronx shop ended up sorting its shelves by the days of the week.
It started with a list on the fridge
Most homes run on a list. Buy a new filter. Test the smoke alarm. Book the dog's nails. Get a gift card for Tia's birthday. We started Everyday Shop Mart in Belmont to make that list a little shorter.
We keep the shop small on purpose. There are 48 items, and each one solves a real, everyday job. We check every product, photo and price before it goes on the site, and we take down anything that doesn't hold up.
Then we sorted the shelves by day. Monday is self-care, Tuesday is home, Wednesday is gadgets, Thursday is safety, Friday is the car, Saturday is pets and Sunday is for learning something new. Gift cards work any day. It sounds a little silly, but customers tell us it helps.
